Giovanni Giorgini holds the Chairof Political Philosophy at the University of Bologna and is Visiting Professor in the Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago and a Life Member of Clare Hall College, Cambridge, where he was previously a Visiting Fellow. He has taught as a visitor at several other American universities. He is the author of three books on classical political philosophy and its modern reception, numerous articles in both Italian and English, and an Italian translation of Plato’s Statesman. His current projects include Machiavelli’s use of classical political thought and his reception by subsequent thinkers.
