Ethan Matt Kavaler is an art historian specializing in Renaissance and Baroque art of northern Europe. He has published extensively on art across a variety of media—painting, architecture, sculpture—including the books Peter Bruegel: Parables of Order and Enterprise (Cambridge University Press) and Renaissance Gothic: Reconceiving Ornament 1470-1540 (in press, Yale University Press).
