Early Modern Interdisciplinary Graduate Forum VII

April 7, 2015 at 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

All interested faculty and students are invited!

The Early Modern Interdisciplinary Graduate Forum (EMIGF) will be holding its seventh and final meeting of the academic year on Tuesday, April 7, 2015.

EMIGF is a monthly event where you can meet and engage in conversation with early modernists (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty) from across the disciplines. Please consider joining us for two 15-20 minute papers and what should be a lively discussion. The papers will be followed by a reception to celebrate the year-end of EMIGF.

When: Tuesday, April 7, 2015; papers 4:00PM-5:30PM; reception 5:30PM-7:00PM

Where: Senior Common Room, Burwash Hall, Victoria College (89 Charles Street)

Lindsay Sidders (History) will be speaking on:

“To Know in Order to Govern: the Pueblo of Navito in Bishop Alonso de la Mota y Escobar’s Descripción geográfica (1605)”

Flora Ward (Art History) will be speaking on:

“Reshaping the Medieval Past in Early Modern Oviedo”

From 5:30-7:00 PM, we invite you stay for a reception at the Senior Common Room to celebrate the year-end of the EMIGF.

During the reception our Corbet Assistants Jessica Farrell-Jobst, Ariella Minden, and Angela Zhang will take a few moments to highlight some interesting, yet little known works belonging to the CRRS rare book collection. Refreshments and snacks will be provided at the reception.
