As laboratories for experimenting in literature and the humanities, journals were behind the discovery of many authors and thinkers, as well as the development of major formal developments. This capacity for innovation is currently well illustrated by the advent of the digital revolution, whose effects are more clearly expressed in journals than in other publications. In fact, many of these journals now offer electronic versions of their work in addition to the paper edition, and is often used as an opportunity to include extras and interactive elements.
This evolution is a reality both in France and Canada, a phenomenon found across the spectrum of journal publications (especially in Humanities and social sciences).
Organized at the University of Toronto in partnership with York University and the Consulate General of France in Toronto, this day-long event will bring together members of the academic community interested in digital publishing of both French and Canadian humanities journals to share their approaches and learn from one another.
