Association of Renaissance Students

The Association of Renaissance Students of Victoria University, in the University of Toronto, is an undergraduate student group founded in 2004 to represent and promote Renaissance Studies across campus. The ARS promotes the collaboration of students from a variety of disciplines who share a common interest in the Renaissance period through academic lectures, socials events and a student academic journal, Virtù and Fortuna.

In the 2014-2015 academic year, the executive team consists of Sabrina La Mantia, the president of the ARS, Jonathan Weigand, the vice-president of the ARS, as well as Shaun Midanik, the Editor-in-chief of the journal. The ARS also works in conjunction with Ben Harvey, the design-editor for the journal as well as Angela Zhang, liaison to The Centre for Reformation and Renaissance Studies (CRRS). We are currently looking for volunteers to fill the positions of: first-year representative, third-fourth year representative, and communications officer.

The ARS encourages all students with an interest in the Renaissance to contact us at sabrina.lamantia@mail.utoronto.ca if they would like to get more involved in ARS activities or attend ARS events. For more information about the Renaissance Studies Program, pleased contact Professor Manuela Scarci at m.scarci@utoronto.ca
